In good shape for the Suns, Devin Booker went straight for home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. His team is winning, but the full-back is not satisfied. The proof of his last tweet is very clear about his state of mind.
Ambushing behind the Warriors early in the season, the Suns ended up leading the West and had no plans to let it go. With the best record in the league (48-10), NBA finalists in particular can count on Devin Booker, who has been red hot since the turn of the year. Kendall Jenner’s partner is just finishing his most complete career (25.5 points, 5 rebounds and 4.5 assists), and that’s reflected in the teammates following in his footsteps.
To get an idea of how hot Arizona players are right now, they’ve won at least 18 of their past 19 games and are on a seven-win streak. So it’s impressive form, but not enough to get the former Kentucky hooked. Instead, as he recently tweeted, interested parties have been following only one score since Jan. 11, the one that saw his people bow:
Devin Booker angry at loss to Hawks
— Book (@DevinBook) February 18, 2022
As you can see, D-Book scored the only loss of the series, against the Eagles (124-115), with an angry emoji. Clearly, the boy was the image of his idol Kobe: Even as the victories piled up, he remembered only the failures along the way, the ones that came to him on the verge of humiliation. It has to be said that without it, Phoenix could almost have a 20-game winning streak. We will be angry too, in his place!
Regardless, the mentality shown by the players is good for the playoffs. The Cactus doesn’t want to repeat the tragic loss against the Bucks last year and intends to make it all the way through the 2021-22 season. When we look at the level of play they have played since the start of the season, we have every right to see them as favourites, especially since they now have the necessary experience. Inevitably, a team like the Rockets can’t:
Devin Booker was on fire and ended the regular season without the slightest setback. We can count on the Suns to show the same mentality and they will be taken seriously!
